Curtis Wayne Conrad, 63, of Concrete, Washington, passed away on June 3, 2026. Born on November 20, 1962, in California, Curtis lived a life defined by adventure, hard work, determination, and an unwavering love for his family.
A man of many talents and passions, Curtis wore many hats throughout his life; logger, beekeeper, mechanic, tow truck driver, businessman, and entrepreneur. He took great pride in operating his auto parts store and tow truck company in Concrete, where he dedicated himself to helping stranded motorists in their times of need. Later in life, he found joy managing a rental boat fleet in the Florida Keys. His strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit were evident in everything he pursued.
Curtis had a deep love for the water. He enjoyed swimming, diving, snorkeling, and dreaming of one day sailing his boat across open waters. He was equally passionate about classic cars, whether admiring them at shows or planning his next project. Curtis could spend hours talking about engines, restorations, and the stories behind the vehicles he loved.
Family was the cornerstone of Curtis’s life. He was the proud father of three sons: Nolan (Jacki), Levon (Toni), and Calvin, whom he raised in the Rockport and Concrete communities. Known affectionately as “Pepo” to his five grandchildren, Thomas, Sydney, Allison, Riley, and Kaiden, Curtis treasured every moment spent with them. He held his family to high standards, encouraged them to work hard, and often reminded them of the values he held dear.
Curtis’s laid-back nature was balanced by a deep sense of responsibility, generosity, and service to others. Whether helping a stranded traveler on Highway 20 or volunteering through the Kiwanis Club, he made a lasting impact on those around him. In quieter moments, he could often be found soaking up the sun at the marina, dozing off in a chair, or playing one of his guitars during an impromptu jam session.
He found joy in life’s simple pleasures: a perfectly cooked steak, soft scrambled eggs made just right, and holiday treats thoughtfully sent by his grandchildren. These small comforts reflected his appreciation for life, family, and the connections he cherished most.
Curtis was preceded in death by his mother, Georgene Conrad; his father, Paul Conrad Sr; and his brother, Paul Conrad Jr. He leaves behind a legacy carried forward by his sons, grandchildren, and close friends whose lives he touched. His memory will live on through their stories, laughter, and shared moments.
May the memory of Curtis Wayne Conrad bring comfort to all who knew and loved him, and may his life continue to inspire those who carry his legacy forward.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be determined by the family.
