Marcia Jane McEwen Jacobson

Marcia Jane McEwen Jacobson, 78, passed away in Marysville, WA on December 1st, 2025. Marcia was born in Lewistown, MT on March 6th, 1947 to Robert C and Viola Jane McFarland McEwen, the 2nd of what would eventually become 6 children. Marcia attended St. Leo’s Grade School and High School in Lewistown, graduating in 1965. She also attended Gonzaga University and business school in Billings, MT

In the early 1970s Marcia moved to Seattle to pursue her life’s ambitions. There she worked for a variety of companies, including Safeco Insurance and Dames and Moore Engineers. At one point she spend 6 months in Iran working for Dames and Moore helping manage a project there. Eventually Marcia settled on a career as a legal secretary, retiring from Ryan, Swanson Law in Seattle in 2015.

Marcia married Vance Jacobson on April 10th, 1993 and they enjoyed each other’s company, residing in Everett, WA , until Vance’s death on October 17th, 2024.

Marcia leaves behind many good friends in the Seattle area and beyond and will be missed. She was a prolific knitter, spending many weekends on knitting retreats. She was well read and was great company to everyone that knew her. Her only regret in life is that her parents never brought her home a baby sister but she still greatly loved her 5 brothers and their families.

Marcia is survived by her 5 brothers; Dennis (Donna) McEwen of Richland, WA, Kevin (Susan) McEwen of Elizabethtown, KY; John (Mary Musil) McEwen of Helena, MT, Rock McEwen of Sheridan, WY and Terry (Lisa) McEwen of Sylvania, OH; 4 nieces and 8 nephews: 16 grand nieces and 11 grand nephews.
